About

With family roots in Australian surfboard manufacturing and time spent around Surfblanks, shaping became a natural extension of my environment rather than something separate. Surfboards were always part of life, and the understanding of how they work came long before the process of building them. My uncle, Mark Bowman, taught me the fundamentals of shaping and passed on the knowledge that comes from years of building boards under his own label. My grandfather was Midget Farrelly, whose influence on Australian surfing and board design helped shape an entire generation of surf culture. Growing up with that family connection created a strong respect for craftsmanship, function, and the idea that a good board should be built to last. His approach to clean, functional design still influences the way I look at surfboards today, with the aim of carrying that thinking forward through more modern shapes and ideas.

The focus has always been on understanding how a board performs before simply making it. How it paddles, how it holds through a turn, how it releases off the tail, and how it fits both the surfer and the conditions it is built for all matter more than trends or unnecessary design. Every shape starts with purpose. Clean outlines, balanced rocker, refined rails, and bottoms that work with the board rather than fight against it are what define the process. Aesthetics matter, but they should come naturally from function, not decoration.

From high performance shortboards and twin pins to midlengths, single fins, noseriders, mini guns, and deepwater guns, every model is approached with the same mindset. The goal is not mass production or overcomplication, but boards that feel right under your feet and continue to work over years of surfing. Each board is shaped with real waves and real surfers in mind, built to suit the conditions they are meant for rather than to sit on a rack.
